Two Boeing professorships of science and mathematics education have
been awarded.
Several
scholarship and fellowship awards are made yearly to undergraduate
and graduate students in science and mathematics education.
Through
the MA in Chemistry and the MS in Biology, SMEEC has provided resources
to 65 teachers to upgrade their science and math teaching skills and
earn graduate degrees.
Provided
numerous courses and learning opportunities for elementary and middle
school teachers in the areas of Astronomy, Biotechnology, Geology
and Ecology.
Maintain
a loan program with an excess of $100,000 of equipment for teachers
in the State of Washington to enhance their science teaching and related
programs.
SMEEC is a
State authorized Clock Hour provider, allowing us to sponsor educational
opportunities for teachers where clock hours are earned when completed.
